Lansing Advocacy Day
Each year members apply to participate in a day of advocating for a public health topic of the group’s choosing. Researching the issues, finding the relevant policy stakeholders to meet with, and preparing one-pagers allows the group to make an impact shaping health policy. Topics in 2023 include:
Repeal Right to Work - Ensure our workers can earn a good living and have great benefits including time with their families and quality, affordable health care.
Reproductive Justice - Repeal outdated laws limiting our freedom to control our own bodies
Gun Control - Gun violence and increasing restrictions on gun ownership
More details to come regarding Lansing Day application and timeline.
Health Policy Matters Week
This week, typically held in February, HPSA takes over the front desk of SPH I to raise awareness of health policy and fund raise for an Ann Arbor non-profit.
