Sharon Thomas (President)

Sharon is currently pursuing a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. During the summer of 2019, she interned for Sutter Health in Fremont, California working on projects related to affordability and lean processes. Sharon is particularly interested in chronic disease management, population health, and health equity.

Sarah Rosenblum (Vice President)

Sarah is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree focusing in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. During the summer of 2019 she interned for UnitedHealthcare in Greensboro, North Carolina. Sarah is particularly interested in health insurance policy and reform. She previously worked for a health policy research firm in Washington, D.C.

Sharoni Bandyopadhyay (Education Chair)

Sharoni is currently pursuing a Master of Health Services Administration degree from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Over the summer of 2019, she interned at Northwestern Medicine’s quality department in Chicago, Illinois. She is interested in health equity and population health.

 

Stephanie Hughes (Advocacy Chair)

Stephanie is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health degree focusing on Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. During the summer of 2019, she interned for Hartford HealthCare in Hartford, Connecticut. Stephanie is particularly interested in health equity, population health management and aging policy.

Rebecca Copeland (Professional Development Chair)

Rebecca is a dual Master of Public Health in Health Management and Policy and Master of Public Policy student. Before graduate school Rebecca was a consultant at The Lewin Group working on Affordable Care Act implementation projects. She interned at the Kaiser Family Foundation in Washington DC during the summer of 2019. Rebecca is interested in social determinants of health/social needs, payment and insurance reform, and community development.

Virginia Lefever (Treasurer)

Virginia is earning her Master of Public Health degree in Health Management and Policy at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. During the summer of 2019 she interned for the U.S. Government Accountability Office in Washington, DC. Virginia is particularly interested in mental health and prescription drug policy and previously worked for community food pantry in Pittsburgh, PA.
